Who/what is/are Covert Forces?
Covert – (adjective) Not openly acknowledged or displayed; (noun) (1) A thicket in which game can hide; (2) Any of the feathers covering the bases of the main flight or tail feathers of a bird
Forces – (noun) (1) Mental or moral strength or power; (2) An organized body of military personnel or police; (verb) (1) Make a way through or into by physical strength; (2) make someone do something against their will
The Covert Forces Bandcamp page reveals they are from British Columbia, Canada, which is a pretty big province mostly full of trees and mountains and sasquatches, and certainly a place in which one could exist in a way that is not openly acknowledged, covertly if you will, so we could easily see Covert Forces as the adjective-verb combination meaning “a musical artist keeping their identity secret and generating power”.
Of course it’s arguably more interesting if we take the noun-verb combination. “The feathers covering the base of the tail feathers of a bird making someone do something against their will”. Kind of a whole different vibe there, one veering wildly into some intriguing BDSM territory…
And interestingly enough, both fit the sound of Covert Forces.
